With over 30 years of experience leading major technology associations and companies, Tim Curran has firmly established himself as an insightful leader committed to the growth and success of the IT channel.
Tim began his career conducting pioneering economic research on US-Japan trade relations in the early 1980s. He quickly became an authority on reducing tensions and enabling mutually beneficial technology partnerships between global powers.
Tim brought his strategic perspective to senior leadership roles at Panasonic in the 1980s and 1990s, leading teams and transforming processes to optimize partner collaboration. His innovative programs and leadership laid the foundations for future channel success.
As SVP at Tech Data in the late 1990s, Tim played an instrumental role in driving the organization to over $11 billion in sales by better enabling partners. His team delivered transformative solutions to customers through new partner relationships.
Tim then elevated the Global Technology Distribution Council to new heights as CEO from 2002 to 2018. He led the expansion of the organization into Europe and Asia, firmly establishing it as the leading voice of the $150 billion distribution industry.
Today at USF's MBA program, Tim imprints his insights on a new generation of channel leaders. His integrity, vision, and lifelong commitment to partnership success make him an invaluable mentor.
